POST MORTEM RECONCILIO

Hey…..It’s been a while and it’s been allot since my last post on this blog. The last post was in March of 2018, Soon after that post I lost a partner of six+ years and became an alcoholic for two years and didn’t make art, then while becoming sober, a lockdown on the country happened from a virus and following that a return of an openly racist administration securing the presidency , from there , depression, friends dying, several failed jobs and relationships with the backdrop of a horrific immoral genocide , then I lost my beloved art studio of sixteen years , truck broke down and above all , during all this madness….. My Mom died.

When writing this introduction I didn’t realize personally how much it all is until I began to list it all out. I honestly don’t know if it has made me stronger or crazier. There is allot of truth to pain though, a weird comfort because pain doesn’t lie, it is what it is. I’ll leave that part there for now.

Since the introduction of A.I. and the social media platforms getting overrun , I am seeing n’ feelin’ that getting back into our own personal sites and pages is a good way to go yo, along with being able to deliver more interactive and extensive media, personal or otherwise, to the peeps! So I am gonna kinda both recap and premiere with these new post my homies.

To start off this new ‘ Back to Bloggin’ vibe , I would like to share a collection of photos of events and art shows held at my old studio ‘Studio SUGARCHURCH’ from the awesome and full of heart photographer, Corbin C

Corbin is an amazing human being who’s love for life is seen in their photography as well as their subject matter and locations, always addictively with a camera in hand , I remember seeing him almost at every creative event during the early 2000s of Portland Oregon, just snapping away and simply enjoying and celebrating the creative community abound. I was so blessed to have his presence naturally documenting the events held at my studio throughout the lockdown and on. Here are a few of my favorite photos from his documentation of that magical time y’all..

Simon the someone

I miss that studio more than words y’all.

Corbin also has a book out ‘CHOICE CUTS’ published by the Buckman Journal that is beautiful

During the. lockdown some friends and I began hosting musicians playing live soundtracks to films and streaming the events, we called them the ‘BLESSING events‘ Here are a few of the events of which I have featured on my Youtube channel you can view and enjoy the whole collection there yo

Here is some promotional art I made for the beautiful and healing vibes of the , MerKaba Brotherhood. When you get a chance go down the rabbit hole of wonderful music this community has been creating yo.

I started doing more comics and sharing them on instagram ,(eatcho@insta), and I will be sharing them more on this platform as the new post come along. I started these as both a release and to also put a voice and perspective out there I am not seeing all to much. This next comic is about a friend lost to suicide and the preciousness of how tragically temporary this beautiful gift of life is….

If you have read this far, thanks for checking it out, it means allot yo.

NEW ZINES THROUGH THE YEAR LUVZ

Another thing I am happy on getting into because of A.i., is making zines y’all! , I am loving the concept of making something tangible for a person to hold again , rather than just seeing an awesome image on just a 2 dimensional screen , its has also been humbling and weird going through almost twenty years of my art and compiling them into little books , also reconfiguring and collaging my own material. I have been sewing these last two zine runs and I really love that last lil part.

a pic of zines luv

I am honored to have just a lil piece of art at the Small Mercies show at Antler Gallery co curated by Thinkspace projects in LA . If you are in Portland Oregon this next month go check it out. Here is my weird art for the show, it lights up .

The best and funniest dubbing I’ve ever heard , the great , Yu Yu Hakusho!

oh ps. I have been liking these playlist by Club Carter Radio every Monday, It really has made the start of the week easier to manage

and to finish this new blog venture off, here is a video from my friend and loving artist ,Larry peace yes, leaving y’all with some good feelings of love.

till then, be well and stay hydrated everyone
