SAYING GOODBYE

On september 10 2010, My grandmother Rosie Lee Mabry passed away. I cant write my feelings with justice, but I remember her always waking up around 5am to go on a three mile walk, when she first woke me to go with her I thought I was in trouble, but in time I began to love our walks , seeing the sun rise, talking to all her friends cute old ladys in sweatsuits all of them miniature  people with clouds for hair and warm smiles. The morning gave me a sense of calm and solitude something thats hard for me throughout the day, Rose introduced that to me and to this day I awake around five or six in the morning, I replaced the walking for coffee and spliffs with a painting at toe and still watch the sunrise …she is one of the most significant giants in my life…

I arrive in culver city to stay with my sister milo ..more people ride bikes there ,Ive seen as compared to other parts of los angeles

I love all the old signs and dead buildings of LA so much has come up and down throughout its time..

  1. Nice post and photos. I think your Grandmother was the only part of your immediate family that I never met. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to Oakland in October.
